A district may acquire, construct, maintain, and operate recreational facilities in connection with any dams, reservoirs, or other works owned or controlled by the district.

This law allows a district to set up, take care of, and run recreational facilities near its dams, reservoirs, or any structures it owns or manages. Basically, if a district controls these kinds of water-related works, it can also develop places for people to enjoy recreational activities there.

Section § 74541
This law permits a district to set and collect fees from the public for using recreational facilities. The money collected must be deposited with the treasurer and credited to the district's account, following the guidelines in another section.
A district may fix and assess reasonable charges for the use of the recreational facilities by members of the public, and may deposit any funds collected thereby with the treasurer to the credit of the district as provided in Section 74750.
