My wife went through a highly contentious child custody case against her ex. Prior to getting a lawyer, her Court filings were constantly rejected due to legal technicalities she didn't understand. She was forced to get an attorney and spend $140,000 in legal fees.

That is when I realized the system is broken. Who could afford $140,000 to get basic custody rights of their children?

With 80% of people having no lawyer in their family law cases -- and getting their requests denied because they didn't understand how to fill out the paperwork -- it was obvious something urgently needs to be done to rectify this problem. Farshad, CEO and Co-Founder of Legalfina Inc.

Legalfina's Vision

We are on a mission to make the legal system accessible to everyone. We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to represent themselves in court and have access to the tools and resources they need to do so. We believe court forms should be easy to understand and fill out. People should be able to spend time with their kids rather than pay attorneys to fill out paperwork or add to their existing stress and trauma from their divorce to do it themselves.
