Explanation

In organization meetings, the board must choose one of its members to be the president and appoint a secretary. Both positions are held as long as the board wants.

At each of its organization meetings the board shall elect a president from their number, and shall appoint a secretary, who shall each hold office at the pleasure of the board.

Section § 74251

Explanation

The law states that the secretary does not have to be a director of the organization.

The secretary need not be one of the directors.

Section § 74252

Explanation

This law states that the board is responsible for setting how much the secretary will be paid and deciding the bond amount that secures the secretary's commitment to fulfilling their job responsibly.

The salary of the secretary and the amount of the bond to be given for the faithful performance of his duties shall be fixed by the board.

Section § 74253

Explanation

This section requires that the secretary's bond is first recorded at the principal county's recorder's office, and then it must be filed with the district.
