Section § 23175

Explanation

This law is called the Irrigation District Federal Cooperation Law, which is a title that identifies the chapter for legal reference.

This chapter shall be known and may be cited as the Irrigation District Federal Cooperation Law.

Section § 23176

Explanation

This section clarifies that the rules in this chapter only apply to certain actions that are specifically taken under it, particularly those involving working with the United States. These rules do not affect general operations of districts or other laws within the same division, unless explicitly stated.

The provisions of this chapter apply only to proceedings taken under it and do not apply to district operations unrelated to cooperation with the United States.
Except as required expressly or by necessary implication by this chapter all other provisions of this division are unaffected by this chapter.

Section § 23177

Explanation

This law section states that any terms defined in Chapter 2 of Part 1 of this division also apply to this chapter. Essentially, it's saying that the definitions you've seen earlier are still relevant and should be used here.

The definitions in Chapter 2 of Part 1 of this division are applicable to this chapter.

Section § 23178

Explanation

This law says that certain rules in the Public Contract Code, which usually apply to contracts, do not apply when a district makes a contract with the United States government. Essentially, it exempts these specific contracts from following those particular rules.

Article 35 (commencing with Section 20560) of Chapter 1 of Part 3 of Division 2 of the Public Contract Code does not apply in the case of any contract between a district and the United States.

Section § 23179

Explanation

This law means that the board has to do everything needed to use the new powers given to them in this chapter of the law.

The board shall perform all acts necessary to carry out the enlarged powers enumerated in this chapter.
