This section gives the official name to a specific piece of legislation, allowing it to be referred to as the Gold Coast Transit District Act.

This part shall be known and may be cited as the Gold Coast Transit District Act.

Section § 107001

Section § 107002

This law section defines terms related to Gold Coast Transit, a transportation agency in Ventura County, California. It specifies who or what each term refers to: 'Agency' refers to Gold Coast Transit; 'Board of Directors' refers to the governing group of the district; 'County' is Ventura County; 'Director' is a voting board member; 'District' is Gold Coast Transit District; 'General Manager' is described in another part of the code; 'Member' refers to Ventura County and certain cities that are part of the district; 'Transit' means transporting people and their luggage; 'Transit Facilities' involve all property and rights for transit operations; and 'Voter' refers to registered electors under the Elections Code.

As used in this part, the following terms have the following meanings:
(a)CA Public Utilities Code § 107002(a) “Agency” means Gold Coast Transit, a joint powers agency created pursuant to Article 1 (commencing with Section 6500) of Chapter 5 of Division 7 of Title 1 of the Government Code.
(b)CA Public Utilities Code § 107002(b) “Board of directors” or “board” means the board of directors of the district.
(c)CA Public Utilities Code § 107002(c) “Board of Supervisors” means the Ventura County Board of Supervisors.
(d)CA Public Utilities Code § 107002(d) “County” means the County of Ventura.
(e)CA Public Utilities Code § 107002(e) “Director” means a voting member of the board of directors.
(f)CA Public Utilities Code § 107002(f) “District” means the Gold Coast Transit District created by this part.
(g)CA Public Utilities Code § 107002(g) “General manager” means the person defined in subdivision (d) of Section 107020.
(h)CA Public Utilities Code § 107002(h) “Member” means the County of Ventura, the Cities of Oxnard, San Buenaventura (Ventura), Port Hueneme, and Ojai, and any other city within the County of Ventura that joins as a member of the district as set forth in this part. No person or entity of any kind that is not the county or a city in the county may be a member.
(i)CA Public Utilities Code § 107002(i) “Transit” means the transportation of passengers and their incidental baggage.
(j)CA Public Utilities Code § 107002(j) “Transit facilities” means any and all real and personal property, easements, licenses, equipment, facilities, rights, title, or interests owned or acquired by the district for transit services and the operation thereof.
(k)CA Public Utilities Code § 107002(k) “Voter” means any elector who is registered under the Elections Code.
