Section § 24450
If someone damages an aircraft and it could affect the plane's safety, they must either find and inform the owner or the person in charge by providing their name and address, showing ID if asked, or leave a note with their contact info and details of the incident. Additionally, they must quickly contact the nearest FAA safety representative.
Section § 24451
This law says that if someone doesn't follow the rules outlined in Section 24550, they are committing a misdemeanor. If found guilty, the person could face up to six months in county jail, be fined up to $1,000, or both.
