If someone breaks the rules starting at Section 42770, they might have to pay a fine of up to $1,000 for each violation after a notice and hearing. The money from these fines goes into a separate account and is used to help manage this part of the law when the Legislature says so.
In addition to Section 42790, any person who violates Article 3 (commencing with Section 42770) may be assessed a civil penalty by the board of not more than one thousand dollars ($1,000) for each violation, pursuant to notice and hearing. Any civil penalties received pursuant to this subdivision shall be deposited in a separate account in the fund and, upon appropriation by the Legislature, shall be used by the board for the administration of this division.
