Section § 9481

Explanation

This section explains how new lands can be added to a district. The process should follow the rules set by the District Reorganization Act of 1965. Importantly, the new lands added to the district don't necessarily have to be next to or touching the existing district lands, unless specified otherwise in this chapter.

The inclusion of additional lands in a district shall be made in accordance with the District Reorganization Act of 1965, Division 1 (commencing with Section 56000) of Title 6 of the Government Code, except that unless otherwise provided in this chapter, the lands included in any district need not be contiguous.
