Section § 3855

Explanation

This section defines two key terms related to methane gas hazards. "Methane gas hazards" refers to dangerous levels of certain gases identified in a specific study. "Eligible jurisdictions" are the counties or cities where these gas hazards are found, as determined by the same study.

As used in this chapter:
(a)CA Public Resources Code § 3855(a) “Methane gas hazards” means collections of biogenic or thermogenic gases identified as hazards in the study conducted by the supervisor pursuant to Article 4.1 (commencing with Section 3240) of Chapter 1.
(b)CA Public Resources Code § 3855(b) “Eligible jurisdictions” means counties and cities identified as having methane gas hazards in the study conducted by the supervisor pursuant to Article 4.1 (commencing with Section 3240) of Chapter 1.
