Section § 690

Explanation

This section enforces the rule against perpetuities, which limits how long property or assets can be controlled after someone's death, to apply specifically to powers of appointment. A power of appointment is a legal ability given to someone to designate who will receive property under a will or trust.

The statutory rule against perpetuities provided by Part 2 (commencing with Section 21200) of Division 11 applies to powers of appointment governed by this part.
