Section § 669.7

Explanation

This law allows insurance companies to issue car insurance policies for vehicles that can carry more than 1,500 pounds, even if other rules might normally prevent it. The policy can cover one person or people living in the same household.

Notwithstanding Section 660, an insurer may deliver or issue an automobile liability, automobile physical damage, or automobile collision policy in this state insuring a single individual or individuals residing in the same household, as named insured, and under which the insured vehicle is a motor vehicle with a load capacity exceeding 1,500 pounds.
