Section § 19800
Refrigeration manufacturers must label each refrigerator and refrigeration plant with the type of refrigerant used. Installation companies must label refrigeration plants they install. If the unit contains more than 20 pounds of refrigerant and can't be transported without disconnecting it, control and diffusion valves must also be labeled. These labels help ensure anyone can quickly turn off the system in an emergency. Violating this requirement is considered a misdemeanor.
