Section § 67920

Explanation

This law establishes the Nevada County Transportation Planning Agency as a local planning body for regional transportation needs in Nevada County, distinctly separate from the state government's executive branch.

The agency can choose its own name and officially replaces the Nevada County Transportation Commission.

The governing body is made up of members appointed by county supervisors and city councils. Each appointing authority can also appoint alternate members to fill in when needed.

(a)CA Government Code § 67920(a) The Nevada County Transportation Planning Agency is hereby created, as a local area planning agency, and not as a part of the executive branch of the state government, to provide regional transportation planning for the area of Nevada County. The agency may be known by any other name it chooses and is the legal successor to the Nevada County Transportation Commission for all purposes.
(b)CA Government Code § 67920(b) The governing body shall be composed of four members appointed by the county board of supervisors, and one member appointed by the city council of each incorporated city in the county.
(c)CA Government Code § 67920(c) The appointing authority, for each regular member it appoints, may appoint an alternate member to serve in place of the regular member when the regular member is absent or disqualified from participating in a meeting of the agency.
