Explanation

This law says that a county can hire a veterinarian if the local government decides their services are necessary for the public's well-being.

A county veterinarian may be appointed by the board of supervisors whenever the public welfare demands the services of such veterinarian.

Section § 2302

Explanation

This law means that the veterinarian's job is not permanently secure and they can be dismissed at any time by the board of supervisors.

The veterinarian shall serve at the pleasure of the board of supervisors.
