Unless the context otherwise requires, the definitions in this article govern the construction of the chapter.

Section § 3002

Explanation

This section defines a 'courtesy pass admission' as a free entry to certain types of fairs, including state, county, district, or citrus fruit fairs. However, it does not include certain types of admissions such as credential admissions, entry for children under 12, or entry for military personnel.

“Courtesy pass admission” means any admission, without payment of the admission charge, to any state, county, district, or citrus fruit fair, except any of the following:
(a)CA Food And Agriculture Code § 3002(a) Credential admission.
(b)CA Food And Agriculture Code § 3002(b) Admission of any child under 12 years of age.
(c)CA Food And Agriculture Code § 3002(c) Admission of any military personnel.

Section § 3003

Explanation

Credential admission allows someone to enter a fair without paying if they provide a necessary service for the fair's operation. This is approved by the state, district, or fair's board of directors, or by a county's board of supervisors.

“Credential admission” means any admission which is authorized by the board of directors of a state, district, or citrus fruit fair, or by the board of supervisors of a county for admission to a fair without payment of the admission charge when a service is rendered by the person who is admitted which is necessary for the conduct of the fair.
