Section § 6300

Explanation

This section applies specifically to the Republican Party's presidential primary ballot and to other qualified parties without existing rules. It outlines how delegates are selected for the Republican Party National Convention, unless the Republican Party's rules say otherwise. The California Republican Party must inform the Secretary of State about any important changes in their rules that affect delegate selection for the convention.

(a)CA Elections Code § 6300(a) This chapter shall be applicable only to the presidential primary ballot of the Republican Party, and qualified parties for which no other provisions apply.
(b)CA Elections Code § 6300(b) This chapter shall be applicable to the selection of delegates to the Republican Party National Convention to the extent that the constitution, bylaws, and rules of the Republican Party do not provide otherwise. The California Republican Party shall notify the Secretary of State of any material changes in the constitution, bylaws, and rules of the Republican Party relating to the selection of delegates to the Republican Party National Convention.
