Section § 6122

Explanation

This law states that people who collect signatures for nomination papers have a specific timeframe in which they can gather these signatures. They can start 120 days before the presidential primary election and must stop 81 days before the election.

Circulators may obtain signatures to the nomination paper for which they were appointed at any time between the period of 120 days and 81 days, inclusive, prior to the presidential primary election.

Section § 6123

Explanation

County election officials and their deputies are not allowed to distribute nomination papers. Also, those gathering signatures for these papers cannot collect them within 100 feet of an election booth or polling place.

A county elections official or his or her deputy may not circulate a nomination paper and circulators may not obtain signatures within 100 feet of any election booth or polling place.
