Section § 26220.1

Explanation

This law defines what counts as a cannabis association under the given chapter. It explains that any cannabis cooperative falling under the rules of this chapter is considered an association. These associations are treated as cannabis cultivators, even if they were not originally set up under these rules but are now operating under them.

“Association” means any cannabis cooperative that is organized pursuant to this chapter. An association shall be deemed incorporated pursuant to this chapter, or organized pursuant to this chapter and shall be deemed a cultivator of a cannabis product within the meaning of this chapter, if it is functioning under, or is subject to, the provisions of this chapter, irrespective of whether it was originally incorporated pursuant to those provisions or was incorporated under other provisions.

Section § 26220.2

Explanation

This law defines the term "member" for certain associations. It includes both individuals who are part of associations without stock and those who hold common stock in associations that do have stock.

“Member” includes members of associations without capital stock and holders of common stock in associations that are organized with shares of stock.

Section § 26220.3

Explanation

This law clarifies that a 'cannabis product' is any cannabis that comes from a cultivator who has the proper licensing.

“Cannabis product” includes any cannabis associated with a licensed cultivator.
