The ballots at the election shall contain the words: “Project assessment—Yes,” and “Project assessment—No,” or words of similar import, together with a general statement of the amount and purpose of the assessment to be levied.

Section § 75445

Explanation

This law section states that if more than half the voters in both cities and unincorporated areas vote in favor of a project assessment proposition, it is considered approved. This approval allows the stated project assessment to be levied for the specified amount and purpose.

If a majority of the votes cast by the qualified electors in cities and a majority of the votes cast by the qualified electors residing in unincorporated areas for the proposition are marked and counted “Project assessment—Yes” or appear to favor the proposition submitted, the proposition shall be deemed to have been accepted by the voters and to authorize the levy of the project assessment in the amount of and for the purpose stated in the proposition.
