Explanation

This law states that the meanings of words defined in this chapter should be used to understand the rest of the division, unless it's clear that a different meaning is needed in a specific situation.

Unless the context otherwise requires, the definitions set forth in this chapter govern the construction of this division.

Section § 79006

Explanation

Section § 79008

Explanation

CALFED is a group of state and federal agencies working together to find a long-term solution for managing water and environmental issues in the bay-delta region.

“CALFED” refers to the consortium of state and federal agencies with management and regulatory responsibilities in the bay-delta that are developing a long-term solution to water management, environmental, and other problems in the bay-delta watershed.

Section § 79009

Explanation

The term "Clean Water Act" refers to the federal law aimed at reducing water pollution in the U.S. and includes any changes made to it over time.
