Boulevard DistrictsPreliminary Plans and Surveys
Section § 26130
Before building a boulevard or asking voters to approve funding through bonds, a commission must hire engineers to do necessary surveys and create detailed plans for the boulevard's location and design. These plans include maps, construction specifications, and cost estimates.
Once the commission approves these plans, they become the official plan for the boulevard project and are recorded in the commission's records. The commission can also choose to have the county surveyor or county engineer handle any of the engineering tasks.
Section § 26131
This law allows the county board of supervisors to use money from the county's general fund or road fund to cover the costs of preliminary surveys. These expenses must be approved through the standard legal process for presenting and approving claims.
