Chapter 11.6Regional Sustainability for Drought and Groundwater, and Water Recycling
Section § 80146
The law allocates $290 million for improving regional water sustainability, specifically focusing on drought and groundwater projects. These funds can be used for projects like groundwater recharge and contamination prevention related to drinking water. This includes planning, design, and project implementation through grants and loans.
Additionally, $50 million of this amount is designated for specific purposes as outlined in another part of the Water Code, starting with Section 79770.
Section § 80147
This law section states that $100 million can be used, once the Legislature approves, under specific parts of the Water Code, but there's an exception to one provision of the Water Code for loans or grants.
Out of this, up to $20 million is designated specifically for the State Water Efficiency and Enhancement Program run by the Department of Food and Agriculture.
