Section § 29780

Explanation

Every January 1st, a report must be submitted by the commission to the Governor and Legislature about progress on the division's objectives. This report evaluates how well the commission is performing its duties, like ensuring local plans align with the Delta Plan and handling appeals on land use decisions.

It also focuses on regional economic sustainability and community enhancement in the Delta. Additionally, the report updates the economic sustainability plan based on initial conditions and checks on environmental standards set by the commission.

On January 1 of each year, the commission shall submit to the Governor and the Legislature a report describing the progress that has been made in achieving the objectives of this division. The report shall include, but need not be limited to, all of the following:
(a)CA Public Resources Code § 29780(a) An evaluation of the effectiveness of the commission in undertaking its functions prescribed in this division, including, but not limited to, its mandates as follows:
(1)CA Public Resources Code § 29780(a)(1) Determining the consistency of local general plans with the Delta Plan.
(2)CA Public Resources Code § 29780(a)(2) Outcomes of appealed local land use decisions pursuant to Sections 29770 and 29771.
(3)CA Public Resources Code § 29780(a)(3) Outcomes of reviews initiated by the commission.
(4)CA Public Resources Code § 29780(a)(4) Facilitating regional economic sustainability.
(5)CA Public Resources Code § 29780(a)(5) Supporting other regional activities for the enhancement of Delta communities.
(b)CA Public Resources Code § 29780(b) An update of the economic sustainability plan, using baseline conditions set forth in the original economic sustainability plan.
(c)CA Public Resources Code § 29780(c) The status of the environmental thresholds established by the commission in the original resource management plan.
