Chapter 4Certification of Use
Section § 19520
By March 1 each year, fiberglass manufacturers must report to the department how much recycled glass (known as cullet) they used to make fiberglass in the previous year. They also need to report how much fiberglass they sold in California during that year.
Section § 19521
This law states that if a fiberglass manufacturer claims they use a certain amount of recycled glass (called glass cullet) in their production, they might be audited by the department to confirm that they're actually using it.
Section § 19522
If a fiberglass manufacturer can't get enough cullet (recycled glass) during a set time, they need to tell the department why. They must show they tried their best to use cullet and prove it didn't meet necessary quality standards, which prevented them from fulfilling certain requirements.
Section § 19523
This law requires the department to create and keep an updated list of all fiberglass manufacturers. Additionally, the department must share with these manufacturers the names and addresses of certified recyclers and processors who handle cullet, which is waste glass used for recycling.
