Section § 18000

Explanation

This law emphasizes that recycling plastics benefits California. From January 1, 1992, all plastic products sold in the state must have a label showing the type of plastic resin used.

The Legislature finds and declares the following:
(a)CA Public Resources Code § 18000(a) Facilitating the recycling of plastics is in the best interests of the state.
(b)CA Public Resources Code § 18000(b) This division is intended to require all plastic products sold in California on and after January 1, 1992, to have a molded label indicating the plastic resin used to produce the product.
