Section § 22410

Explanation

This law makes it illegal for anyone in California to manufacture, import, sell, give away, lend, or possess any shuriken. Violating this law can lead to jail time of up to one year or a different specified type of imprisonment.

Except as provided in Chapter 1 (commencing with Section 17700) of Division 2 of Title 2, any person in this state who manufactures or causes to be manufactured, imports into the state, keeps for sale, or offers or exposes for sale, or who gives, lends, or possesses any shuriken is punishable by imprisonment in a county jail not exceeding one year or imprisonment pursuant to subdivision (h) of Section 1170.

Explanation

If you have a shuriken, or throwing star, it's considered a nuisance. Generally, you're not supposed to have one, with some exceptions found in another part of the law. If you are found with a shuriken, it might be taken away under another law related to nuisances.

Except as provided in Chapter 1 (commencing with Section 17700) of Division 2 of Title 2, any shuriken is a nuisance and is subject to Section 18010.
