Section § 1300

Explanation

This law establishes the Capitol Park Veterans Memorial Fund within California's State Treasury. The fund is specifically for upkeep and repairing existing veterans' memorials at the State Capitol. It also allows for the collection of private donations to support these activities.

There is hereby created within the State Treasury the Capitol Park Veterans Memorial Fund for the purpose of the maintenance and rehabilitation of existing memorials in the State Capitol to veterans of the United States Armed Forces and for receipt of private donations for that purpose.

Section § 1301

Explanation

This law sets up a fund for maintaining and repairing veterans' memorials at the State Capitol. The Department of Veterans Affairs is in charge of using this money to keep these memorials in good condition.

The Capitol Park Veterans Memorial Fund is hereby continuously appropriated to the Department of Veterans Affairs for the purpose of the maintenance and rehabilitation of existing memorials in the State Capitol to veterans of the United States Armed Forces.

Section § 1302

When administering the Capitol Park Veterans Memorial Fund, the Department of Veterans Affairs shall prioritize, in consultation with the California Veterans Board, those memorials that do not have formal support from another body, public or private, for their maintenance, including, but not limited to, the Vietnam Veterans Memorial on the grounds of the State Capitol.
