Chapter 3County Institutions
Section § 1120
This law allows any county to create and support a home for veterans who served honorably in any U.S. wars, regardless of their military branch.
Section § 1121
This California law allows county boards of supervisors to take various actions for developing and maintaining homes, such as purchasing or acquiring necessary property, and managing or improving it. They can also construct, furnish, and repair buildings, hire necessary staff, and supply for maintenance. County supervisors are authorized to levy special taxes for these purposes, establish a specific fund, and transfer money from the general fund as needed. They can also issue bonds for funding or collaborate with incorporated cities to achieve these goals.
