Section § 66

Explanation

This law section states that the services described in Section 65 will be provided by a special team within the department called the California State Mediation and Conciliation Service.

The services of the department pursuant to Section 65 shall be conducted by a unit within the department to be known as the California State Mediation and Conciliation Service.

Section § 67

Explanation

This law lets the director charge private and public employers, labor unions, and employee organizations for certain services provided by the California State Mediation and Conciliation Service. These services include handling elections, arbitration, training, and assistance, as well as representation services for public transit labor issues. The director must also create rules to enforce this section.

(a)CA Labor Code § 67(a) Notwithstanding any other law, the director may seek and collect reimbursement from private and public sector employers, labor unions, and employee organizations for election, arbitration, and training and facilitation services provided by the California State Mediation and Conciliation Service pursuant to Section 65 and for representation services, including the provision of hearing officers, related to public transit labor relations provided by the California State Mediation and Conciliation Service pursuant to the Public Utilities Code.
(b)CA Labor Code § 67(b) The director shall adopt regulations implementing this section.
