Mausoleums and ColumbariumsPenalties
Section § 9675
If you break any rule in this section, you can be charged with a misdemeanor. This means you might have to pay a fine between $100 and $1,000, spend 10 days to 6 months in county jail, or both. Also, you'll have to cover any costs related to the case, including what the department or person who brought the charges had to pay.
Section § 9676
If you own or run a mausoleum or a columbarium that's built against the rules set in this law, you're considered to be causing a public nuisance. If convicted, you could face a fine between $500 and $5,000, spend between one to six months in county jail, or both.
Additionally, you will have to cover all the costs for the case brought against you. Each month your building remains a nuisance counts as a new offense. The court handling the case decides on the total costs and expenses you need to pay.
Section § 9677
This law states that penalties won't be imposed on a building if it adhered to all relevant laws at the time its construction permit was issued, as long as the building's current use does not breach public health protection laws.
