Section § 34001

Section § 34002

Section § 34003

Explanation

This law states that any city set up under a law that has been replaced or canceled by this new code will not have its organization changed because of the adoption of this title.

Section § 34004

Explanation

This law allows a city's governing body to pass an ordinance that reassigns duties, originally imposed by state law on a specific municipal officer, to another city officer who is already responsible for similar tasks. Once this ordinance is adopted, it must be filed with the relevant state officer or agency responsible for overseeing that duty.

Where any duty is imposed upon a municipal officer by any law of this State or any rule or regulation adopted under the authority of any such law the governing body of a city may, by ordinance, impose such duty or a portion thereof upon such other officer of such city as is charged under the charter of that city, or by applicable general law with the performance of duties of the same character in that city. A copy of any such ordinance as adopted shall be filed with the state officer or agency which has charge of the matter to which such duty pertains.
