Section § 6060

Explanation

This section explains that when a law requires a public notice to be published, it must be done in a widely-read newspaper. The notice should be published for a certain length of time, a specific number of times, and in a particular way, as detailed in the referenced section. “Notice” includes any official ads, resolutions, orders, or similar content that legally needs to be published in such newspapers.

Whenever any law provides that publication of notice shall be made pursuant to a designated section of this article, such notice shall be published in a newspaper of general circulation for the period prescribed, the number of times, and in the manner provided in that section. As used in this article, “notice” includes official advertising, resolutions, orders, or other matter of any nature whatsoever that are required by law to be published in a newspaper of general circulation.

Section § 6062

Explanation

This law requires a notice to be published in a newspaper for 10 consecutive days. The 10-day period starts on the first day the notice appears and ends on the tenth day. The notice must be published every day the newspaper is printed during this timeframe.

Publication of notice pursuant to this section shall be for 10 days. The period of notice commences upon the first day of publication and terminates at the end of the tenth day, including therein the first day. Publication shall be made on each day on which the newspaper is published during the period.

Section § 6062

Explanation

This section explains how notices must be published in a newspaper. They need to be published at least twice with a gap of at least five days in between, but the days of publication don't count in this gap. The notice period begins on the first day the publication appears and lasts for 10 days, including that first day.
