Chapter 4Foreign Trade Zones
Section § 6300
This section defines specific terms used in the chapter. "Act of Congress" refers to a specific law passed on June 18, 1934, which focuses on creating and managing foreign-trade zones in U.S. entry ports to boost foreign trade. "Public corporation" includes entities like the state, political subdivisions, municipalities, and other public agencies or instrumentalities within California.
Section § 6302
This law states that both public and certain private corporations in California can apply to establish, run, and maintain a foreign-trade zone. The private corporations eligible must have been organized after September 15, 1935, specifically for creating foreign-trade zones. These zones are set up following federal regulations outlined by Congress.
Section § 6304
This law allows certain public or private corporations in California to set up and run foreign-trade zones if they meet specific requirements. The corporations must follow rules and conditions outlined in a federal law and any changes made to it in the future. They also need to adhere to guidelines set by a designated board responsible for overseeing these zones.
