Chapter 28Olympic Training Center
Section § 7591
This law section states that fifteen million dollars is allocated from the General Fund to support a nonprofit organization, the San Diego National Sports Training Foundation, to build a California Olympic Training Center with support from the U.S. Olympic Committee.
The money will be distributed in equal portions over three years starting from the end of 1990, only if the foundation can match five million dollars by those dates.
Furthermore, any outstanding loan balance and accumulated interest at the time this section was added don't need to be paid back.
Section § 7591.5
This law states that the Secretary of Trade and Commerce must remove any liens related to a specific loan by January 1, 1999. These liens are on property owned by the United States Olympic Committee. However, the law also clarifies that the San Diego National Sports Training Foundation is still responsible for repaying the loan.
Section § 7592
This law creates a special fund called the California Olympic Training Account within the General Fund. It is funded by extra vehicle registration fees collected according to another regulation and is transferred yearly to the General Fund.
