Section § 8800

Explanation
This law defines a 'beach net' as any net that is pulled from the water to the shore. It includes specific types of nets called beach seines and haul seines.

Section § 8801

Explanation

If you're in Districts 1, 2, or 3, you're not allowed to have beach nets on any boat.

In Districts 1, 2, and 3, beach nets may not be possessed on any boat.

Section § 8802

Explanation

This law section allows the use of beach nets in Districts 8 and 9.

In Districts 8 and 9, beach nets may be used.

Section § 8803

Explanation

In District 10, you can use beach nets that have mesh sizes of at least 1.5 inches. However, if you're south of Pt. Lobos in District 10, you can only use beach nets up to 20 feet long with mesh sizes of at least 0.875 inches, specifically for catching surf smelt.

In District 10, beach nets may be used, the meshes of which are at least 11/2 inches in length. In that portion of District 10 lying south of Pt. Lobos, beach nets not over 20 feet in length, the meshes of which are at least seven-eighths of an inch in length, may be used to take surf smelt only.

Section § 8804

Explanation

This law permits the use of beach nets in District 11.

In District 11, beach nets may be used.

Section § 8805

Explanation

This law states that in Districts 12 and 13, you are not allowed to have beach nets on any boats.

In Districts 12 and 13, beach nets may not be possessed on any boat.

Section § 8806

Explanation

In District 18, it's illegal to use beach nets. This means people cannot set up nets on the beach in this area.

In District 18, beach nets may not be used.

Section § 8807

Explanation

This regulation permits the use of beach nets with mesh sizes of at least 1.5 inches to catch smelt in District 19. The fishing season for smelt using these nets is from September 1st to January 31st.

In District 19, beach nets, the meshes of which are at least 11/2 inches in length, may be used to take smelt between September 1st and January 31st.
