Section § 16002

Explanation

This section defines the term "aircraft" as any type of vehicle or device that can be used to transport people or things through the air, including those coming from other states, territories, or foreign countries.

“Aircraft” means every description of craft or other contrivance which is used, or capable of being used, as a means of transportation through the air from origins in other states or territories or in foreign countries.

Section § 16003

This law defines 'food stores' as including fruits, vegetables, and animal products that are kept on boats and planes. It also covers these items if they are located in the living areas of passengers and crew members.

“Food stores” means fruits, vegetables, or animal products which are carried as stores of vessels and aircraft and includes fruits, vegetables, or animal products which are carried in passengers’ and crews’ quarters.

Section § 16004

This section defines 'garbage' as waste material that comes from various sources like food scraps, table waste, and refuse from places like kitchens on ships and airplanes. This waste can be found in areas used by passengers and crew and must come from fruits, vegetables, or animal products.

“Garbage” means waste material, such as food scraps, table refuse, galley refuse, and refuse from stores of vessels and aircraft, including such waste material in passengers’ and crews’ quarters, which is derived, in whole or in part, from fruits, vegetables, or animal products.

Section § 16005

Explanation

"Territorial waters of California" refers to all the navigable waters in the state, which include parts of the sea under California's jurisdiction that are used by boats or aircraft.

“Territorial waters of California” means all navigable waters of this state including all portions of the sea within its jurisdiction which are used by vessels or aircraft.

Section § 16006

Explanation

This law defines the term 'vessel' as any type of craft or device that is used, or can be used, for transportation on coastal, intercoastal, or foreign waters.

“Vessel” means every description of craft or other contrivance which is used, or capable of being used, as a means of transportation in or on coastal, intercoastal, or foreign waters.
