Section § 930

Explanation

This law states that in criminal cases, defendants have the right not to testify or be forced to testify, if such a privilege is supported by the U.S. or California Constitution. This means they cannot be called as a witness against their will.

To the extent that such privilege exists under the Constitution of the United States or the State of California, a defendant in a criminal case has a privilege not to be called as a witness and not to testify.
