Article 20Reporting
Section § 94948
This law requires the director to provide written updates to the Legislature every six months and participate in oversight hearings. These updates should report on how well the bureau is protecting consumers and enforcing laws, focusing on information gathered about student complaints. The updates must include the total number of complaints received, the general nature of these complaints, and their outcomes.
Section § 94949
This section required that by March 15, 2015, the director provided an independent review to the Legislature about the staffing needs and qualifications for a specific bureau to properly implement a chapter of law. This report also needed to include cost estimates and an evaluation of the fee structure's adequacy to meet these needs. Additionally, the report had to comply with another law (Section 9795 of the Government Code), but this requirement was repealed on January 1, 2017.
