Section § 19120

Explanation

This law gives a specific bureau the authority to enforce sanitization rules for certain products. If there are any changes to these rules, the bureau must work with the State Department of Health Services to make sure everything is up-to-date.

The enforcement of all sanitization regulations pertaining to any article subject to this chapter is vested in the bureau. The bureau shall consult with the State Department of Health Services on any changes to the sanitization requirements.

Section § 19121

Explanation

You can't sell or offer bedding that's dirty unless it's been cleaned or the fabric is replaced, and then sanitized as outlined in this chapter.

Filthy or soiled articles of new or used bedding cannot be sold, offered or exposed for sale unless the fabric covering them is either properly cleaned or replaced by a new covering and then subjected to sanitization as provided for in this chapter.

Section § 19122

Explanation

If you want to sanitize bedding or filling materials professionally, you need to have your equipment tested and approved by the Bureau first.

A person shall not engage in the business of sanitizing any article of bedding or filling material, provided for in this chapter, without first having his or her sanitization equipment tested and approved by the bureau.

Section § 19122.5

Explanation

This law requires regular testing and inspections by a bureau representative to ensure that equipment and procedures meet sanitation regulations.

Periodic tests and inspections shall be made by an authorized representative of the bureau, to determine whether or not the equipment and procedures used, comply with the requirements of the sanitization regulations.

Section § 19123

Explanation

This section states that the rules in this article apply only to people who need a license as required by this chapter.

The provisions of this article apply only to persons subject to the license provisions of this chapter.

Section § 19123.4

Explanation

If new bedding is made with any filler material that's been used before, it must be cleaned and sanitized before it can be sold to customers.

Newly manufactured articles of bedding that contain any secondhand filling material shall be sanitized before they are offered or exposed for sale.

Section § 19123.5

Explanation

If someone repairs or renovates bedding or filling material to sell it again, they must sanitize it before selling or displaying it for sale. This is true even if the item was initially repaired for its owner and later decided to be sold.

Every article of bedding and all filling material, repaired or renovated for resale or repaired or renovated for an owner but subsequently offered for sale shall be sanitized before being offered or exposed for sale.

Section § 19123.6

Explanation

If you're fixing a piece of bedding and you add any used material to it, you must sanitize it according to the specific sanitization rules.

Every article of bedding to which any secondhand material has been added in the process of repairing, shall be sanitized in accordance with the provisions of the sanitization regulations.

Section § 19124

If you're in California and you take any material used for filling bedding to clean it, you must make sure it meets certain sanitization standards and regulations.

Every person who receives for sanitization any bedding filling material shall sanitize all those articles and material in accordance with the sanitization regulations.

Section § 19124.5

Explanation

If you're cleaning or disinfecting any bedding or filling material, you need to attach a specific label to it, as instructed by the relevant authority.

Every person who sanitizes any bedding or filling material shall affix a sanitization label to the article or material in the manner prescribed by the bureau.

Section § 19127

Explanation

This law section states that the characteristics of sanitization labels, like their form, size, color, and material, need approval from a designated authority known as the chief, and must comply with established Label Regulations.

The form, size and color of sanitization labels, and the material of which they are made shall be approved by the chief and as provided in the Label Regulations.

Section § 19127.5

Sanitization labels shall be sold only to sanitizers licensed under this chapter. Illegal possession of any sanitization label is a violation of this chapter. Void or mutilated labels shall be returned to the bureau.

Section § 19127.6

Explanation

This law requires that anyone responsible for sanitization must keep a record of all data and track what happens to every label as per the specific sanitization rules. These records must be available for inspection at any reasonable time by the chief and inspectors.

The sanitizer shall keep a record of all data and show the disposition of every label as required in the sanitization regulations. The records shall be accessible at all reasonable times to the chief and the inspectors.

Section § 19129

Explanation
Before selling any secondhand or used bedding or sleep-related items, they must be properly cleaned and sanitized according to specific rules.
Secondhand or used bedding and any secondhand or used article that can be used for sleeping purposes shall be sanitized under the provisions of this chapter before being sold.

Section § 19131

Explanation

Any bedding from places like hospitals or jails, or used by someone with an infectious disease, needs to be properly cleaned before it's fixed or updated.

Every article of bedding from any private or public hospital, jail or other institution, or which has been used by any person, suffering from an infectious or contagious disease, shall be sanitized before it is repaired or renovated.

Section § 19132

Explanation
When dealing with bedding or materials, make sure that the new or freshly sanitized items are always kept separate from any secondhand or used items that haven't been sanitized.
New or sanitized articles of bedding or materials shall at all times be kept separate from any secondhand or used articles or materials that are unsanitized.
