Section § 26300

Explanation

This section defines key terms related to agreements for commercial cannabis activities between California and other states. An 'agreement' is a deal about cannabis that California makes with other states. A 'contracting state' is any other U.S. state or territory that has made such an agreement with California. 'Foreign license' refers to a cannabis license from one of these other states. Meanwhile, a 'state license' is one issued by a California authority for cannabis activities.

As used in this chapter, the following definitions apply:
(a)CA Business & Professions Code § 26300(a) “Agreement” means an agreement relating to commercial cannabis authorized under this chapter and entered into between this state and another state or states.
(b)CA Business & Professions Code § 26300(b) “Contracting state” means a state of the United States, including a district, commonwealth, territory, or possession subject to the legislative authority of the United States, with which the Governor has entered into an agreement pursuant to this chapter.
(c)CA Business & Professions Code § 26300(c) “Foreign license” means a commercial cannabis license issued under the laws of another state that has entered into an agreement pursuant to this chapter.
(d)CA Business & Professions Code § 26300(d) “State license” means a commercial cannabis license issued by a licensing authority pursuant to this division.
