Section § 22780

Explanation

If you run a commercial mail receiving agency, you cannot accept a Postal Service Form 1583 from someone unless you've verified their identity with a valid ID, like a driver's license or a state ID card. You also need to keep a copy of this form and provide it to law enforcement if they request it for an investigation. If you don't follow these rules, you could be fined at least $100 for the first offense and at least $500 for any further offenses.
