Section § 7826

Explanation

This law allows a board to create technical advisory committees to help with certain tasks. These tasks include reviewing applications for licenses or titles, checking compliance with rules, and considering changes to the board's regulations and procedures.

The board may establish one or more technical advisory committees to advise and assist the board with respect to the following:
(a)CA Business & Professions Code § 7826(a) Application review and verification for any level of registration, licensure, authority, or title.
(b)CA Business & Professions Code § 7826(b) Evaluation and investigation of potential violations of this chapter.
(c)CA Business & Professions Code § 7826(c) Amendment, repeal, adoption, or revision of board rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.

Section § 7826.1

Explanation

This law states that each technical advisory committee is made up of up to five members who are appointed by the board. These members serve based on the board's discretion, meaning the board can remove them at any time.

Each member of each technical advisory committee shall be appointed by the board and shall serve at the pleasure of the board. Each committee shall be composed of no more than five members.

Section § 7826.2

Section § 7826.3

All the members of each technical advisory committee shall serve without compensation but shall receive per diem and expenses as provided in Section 103.

Section § 7826.4

Explanation

This law grants members of technical advisory committees the same legal protections from liability as public employees, according to specific sections of the Government Code.

Each member of each technical advisory committee shall be granted the same immunity as is granted to a public employee pursuant to Article 3 (commencing with Section 820) of Chapter 1 of Part 2 of Division 3.6 of Title 1 of the Government Code.
