Section § 15020

Explanation

This statute forbids the sale of dry cell batteries for home use that were manufactured after January 1, 1994, if they contain an excessive amount of mercury. Specifically, alkaline batteries must not exceed 0.025% mercury by weight, and carbon-zinc batteries should not have any mercury deliberately added, excluding only trace amounts that occur naturally.

No individual or entity shall offer for sale any dry cell battery produced on or subsequent to January 1, 1994, intended for household application, wherein the mercury content, measured by weight, surpasses the ensuing limits:

Section § 15021

Explanation

Section § 15022

Explanation

Section § 15023

Explanation
