Article 3Reorganization of Districts Under the Jurisdiction of Different Counties
Section § 35520
If there's a need to reorganize school districts that span across multiple counties and have different county school superintendents, then any steps or actions required by county officials must be carried out in each involved county, unless this article or another law says otherwise.
Section § 35521
If someone wants to start a petition related to certain actions, they must file it in each relevant county. The county superintendents, who oversee the areas where the people who signed the petition live, will decide if the petition is valid.
Section § 35522
This law explains that when there's a special election needed in certain school districts, it's the responsibility of each county superintendent overseeing those districts to organize and conduct the election. All details like setting the date, hours, and what the ballot will look like are decided together by the superintendents involved.
Section § 35523
This law says that if there's a need for a public hearing related to certain actions, it can be held in either county. It should take place wherever it is most convenient for the county officials or agencies involved.
Section § 35524
This law says that when there is a proposal to reorganize, a decision about it can be made during or after a joint public hearing. If the hearings are held separately in different counties, each county's findings must be shared with the other counties before making a decision to approve or reject the reorganization proposal.
