Article 4Election Notice
Section § 5360
This section explains two types of election notices in this chapter: 'formal notice' refers to announcements published and posted in public areas, while 'card notice' is the one mailed to registered voters in the relevant election area.
Section § 5361
This law section explains that when there's an election for a school district or community college district, but not about bonds, the county superintendent of schools must prepare a formal notice. This notice must include when the election will take place and what the election is for.
Section § 5362
Instead of printing an election notice in the newspaper, this law allows election notices to be posted publicly. For school district or community college district elections (except for bond measures), the county superintendent must post these notices 90 days before the election in every schoolhouse involved and at three additionally chosen public places within the area.
Section § 5363
This section states that when an election is held for a governing board member and the procedure in Section 5362 is not used, the official in charge of the election must ensure that a formal notice about the election is published according to a specific part of the Elections Code.
