Section § 12925

Explanation

This law makes it illegal for anyone buying wool from a producer to deduct money specifically for parts of the wool like tags, fribs, or crutchings based on their weight or value. If a contract tries to include such deductions, that part is not valid. Breaking this rule is a misdemeanor, which is a minor criminal offense.

No person purchasing wool from a producer shall make a specific deduction for tags, fribs, crutchings or other off-wools, either on a basis of the percentage of the weight or percentage of the value of the wool. Any provision in a contract to purchase wool from a producer, providing for such a deduction, is invalid.
Violation of this section is a misdemeanor.
