Section § 20705

Explanation

This law says that certain people can still do their jobs under other licenses without claiming to be certified industrial hygienists. It also allows people to get professional experience or apprenticeships to meet certification needs and students to practice as part of their education, as long as these activities are supervised and part of their coursework.

This act shall not prohibit:
(a)CA Business & Professions Code § 20705(a) Any person legally regulated in this state under any other licensing act or regulation from engaging in the activities permitted under his or her license, provided he or she does not represent himself or herself as a certified industrial hygienist or CIH.
(b)CA Business & Professions Code § 20705(b) Professional experience or apprenticeship performed in order to meet certification requirements in this chapter.
(c)CA Business & Professions Code § 20705(c) The practice of a student pursuing a course of professional education under the terms of this chapter, if these activities and services constitute a part of the student’s supervised course of study.
