ContractorsRecords
Section § 7080.5
Once an application is accepted, the registrar must publicly display the applicant's name and address, the types of classifications they are applying for, and the names and titles of all the people who signed the application. This information is posted the next day at the Contractors State License Board office in Sacramento.
Section § 7081
If there's money to do so, the registrar can make and share a list of contractors' names and addresses, including details about their licenses, such as those issued, suspended, or revoked. This information can be shared with public works departments and anyone interested in the construction industry. Individuals or companies can also request these lists from the registrar for a reasonable fee.
Section § 7082
This law allows the registrar to share information about how the building and construction regulations are managed and enforced. This information can be shared with licensed professionals, public officials, or others involved in the construction industry, as long as there are funds available to do so.
Section § 7083
If you're a licensed contractor, you must inform the licensing board within 90 days if there's any change in specific details like your business address or business name, or if there's any relevant exemption regarding bonds or multiple licenses. You need to do this using a form they provide. If you don't notify them within 90 days, any changes you make will only count from when they receive your written notice. Not informing them in time can lead to disciplinary actions against you.
Section § 7083.1
If your license has expired, been suspended, or canceled but can still be renewed, you must inform the registrar in writing about any change to your address within 90 days. Additionally, you need to keep your address up to date for five years after your license expires or is cancelled.
Section § 7083.2
This law requires individuals applying for or renewing a license or registration with a board to provide a valid email address. The board must keep these email addresses private and not disclose them as public records. If the board sends an email to the provided address, it is assumed that the email was successfully delivered. A valid email address means one that the individual currently uses to receive emails when they submit their application or renewal.
