Speech-language Pathologists, Audiologists, and Hearing Aid DispensersRevenue
Section § 2534
This section creates a special fund in the state treasury specifically for money collected from the activities of speech-language pathologists, audiologists, and hearing aid dispensers. The board responsible for these professions must report their monthly revenue to the Controller and deposit it in the fund. The money in this fund is then used to support the activities governed by related laws, but only if the Legislature approves its use.
Section § 2534.1
This law requires that the board keeps detailed records to make sure that the money spent on managing each type of license or registration matches the income received from that category.
Section § 2534.2
This law outlines the fees related to various licenses and certifications for speech-language pathologists and audiologists in California. The board sets application and renewal fees for these professionals, ensuring they are high enough to fund its operations but capped at specific maximum amounts. It also details fees for delinquency, reexamination, aides, and duplicate certificates. Additionally, there are specific charges for approving and renewing speech-language pathology assistants and for issuing a license status letter.
