Section § 3680

Explanation

This section outlines the fees related to licensing for doctors of naturopathic medicine in California. The application fee can't exceed $600. The initial and renewal license fees are capped at $1,200 each, while the late renewal fee is $225. If you need fingerprint processing, you pay the current fee set by the Department of Justice. A replacement license costs $38, and certifying a license verification is $30.

(a)CA Business & Professions Code § 3680(a) The application fee for a doctor of naturopathic medicine shall be no more than five hundred dollars ($500) and may be increased to not more than six hundred dollars ($600).
(b)CA Business & Professions Code § 3680(b) The initial license fee shall be one thousand dollars ($1,000) and may be increased to not more than one thousand two hundred dollars ($1,200).
(c)CA Business & Professions Code § 3680(c) The renewal fee for a license shall be one thousand dollars ($1,000) and may be increased to not more than one thousand two hundred dollars ($1,200).
(d)CA Business & Professions Code § 3680(d) The late renewal fee for a license shall be two hundred twenty-five dollars ($225).
(e)CA Business & Professions Code § 3680(e) The fee for processing fingerprint cards shall be the current fee charged by the Department of Justice.
(f)CA Business & Professions Code § 3680(f) The fee for a duplicate or replacement license shall be thirty-eight dollars ($38).
(g)CA Business & Professions Code § 3680(g) The fee for a certified license verification shall be thirty dollars ($30).

Section § 3681

Explanation

This law states that any fees collected by the board for naturopathic doctors go into a special fund in the State Treasury called the Naturopathic Doctor's Fund. The board can only spend this money for specific chapter purposes if the Legislature approves it.

All fees collected by the board shall be paid into the State Treasury and shall be credited to the Naturopathic Doctor’s Fund which is hereby created in the State Treasury. The money in the fund shall be available to the board for expenditure for the purposes of this chapter only upon appropriation by the Legislature.
